The Foundation for Carson City Parks & Recreation partnered with the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department to support the C-Hill Flag Foundation in the restoration of the C-Hill flag.
The restoration was carried out by volunteers on behalf of the Carson City C-Hill Flag Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and maintenance of the famed American flag on the face of C-Hill in Carson City. On October 4, 2025 more than 80 volunteers deconstructed the C-Hill Flag and began its restoration. In April 2026, the foundation announced that it successfully hit its fundraising goal of more than $38,000 for the effort.
On May 30, 2026 more than 60 volunteers participated in the completion of the flag restoration.
